Traveller’s Book for February | My Picks

The Wild Muir

Selected and introduced by Lee Stetson

Who doesn’t know John Muir? There are a few people from the past who I would very much love to talk to – and Muir is one of them. He’s the one who we can thank to for having Yosemite Conservancy, he’s the man who fell in love with Yosemite and spent quite a few years living in the Valley and exploring the mighty mountains and beautiful nature, he’s the man who spoke to bears and rattlesnakes, who took risks and lived his life the way he wanted and in a place he loved.

This month’s book is filled with his adventures, from climbing an ice cone to being the first one to summit Mount Ritter, from riding a tree to riding an avalanche. I personally love reading these stories and they just make my desire to get out there even more irresistible!
